Spring Writing Check-In
Nearly one-third of a year has passed since we discussed our 2018 writing goals, some of us one on one, some of us in a fill-in-the-blank post titled “In 2018, You Will!”
And so… well… how are you doing so far with those goals?
If you’re well on your way to hitting ’em, congratulations! Take a moment to pat yourself on the back, and take another second to gloat about it in the comments.
If you’re struggling, do you know why? And is there anything we can do to help?
Maybe you’re a hibernating writer stuck in the ol’ winter writing doldrums? With 12-18″ of snow supposedly headed to us in NYC as I write this, I can empathize.
So… Eleanor G., how is the book coming along? John L., how are you doing on the revisions?
Jill-Ayn, are you on pace to write your five longer works and are you blogging twice a month? How about you, Robin? Have you started writing?
If you left a goal in our January post, let us know how it’s going.
If you didn’t, it’s never too late to start! What do you hope to accomplish between now and December 31?

I am close to getting my first book of the year published. I added a new goal in that I want to get at least one audio book done, so I’ve been working on that one. Hopefully I’ll have time to get it done over the summer I did get my contemporary paranormal fantasy series separated and cleaned up some. It is going to take a while to get it ready to publish though. . I’ve started writing the second book to the Jillian factor series. and have gotten to chapter 4 already on it. My website has been redone… Read more »
What is your website? Where can we see your work?
I’m not remembering what I said when you posted to write about goals for 2018…But I bet it was about my memoir. Well, I think I’ve done pretty well with writing that so far. At last last count I had a draft of 20,000 words including excerpts from journals of 25 years ago. Visiting with someone on Memoir Writers site, she said that was a big accomplishment. I put so much into this that I’m stuck now for how to go from where that part ended. Maybe just tired from intense concentration. I get stuck when I try writing any… Read more »
Excuses, excuses, excuses! i won’t rewrite the family history until the first draft is done. My husband nixes the idea of Killer Nashville until the first draft is done, so I will probably go to the Mississippi Writers’ Guild conference in July. I have been sidetracked preparing for a women’s retreat, but I am progressing s-l-o-w-l-y on the first draft.
