Writing Prompt: Basic Material
A few of you wrote in to share the results from our vom-tastic April prompt; my favorite came from a writer in Washington who actually did boot on an editor, a co-worker at an office happy hour. Bless you for sharing that anecdote with us.
Today we want you to dig down a bit and think about how (if at all) your childhood affected your writing. The quote today comes from Willa Cather, who is said to have said, “Most of the basic material a writer works with is acquired before the age of fifteen.”
Write these words at the top of the page and let them take you in whatever direction they choose.
Happy writing, writers! Feel free to email us your experience, and if you want to share with the whole group, leave your results in the comments section below.
