Writing Coach, Editor, and/or Publishing Professional

A writing coach works with writers of all experience levels one-on-one in private instruction, book coaching, and/or writer’s block counseling.

An editor critiques, copyedits, proofreads, and/or revises manuscripts of varying lengths and skill levels.

A publishing professional educates and positions writers of all experience levels for publication via consults, query letter and book proposal clinics, and pitch packages.

If you are qualified to deliver one or more of these services, we want to hear from you.

All applicants must be comfortable expressing feedback both orally and in writing, and have proven expertise in one or more of the following genres:

Fiction – mainstream fiction, literary fiction, genre fiction, young adult, novels, short stories
Nonfiction – memoir, journalism, blogging
Other – poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, children’s literature

Intern

Applicants should have superb writing skills and familiarity with literary topics. A background in writing, English, or journalism is preferred, but not required.

Applicants must, must, must have an interest in creative writing. All else can be taught.

We’re looking for well-spoken forward-thinkers who aren’t afraid of large projects and will work well with minimal supervision. (We take four-hour lunch breaks).

Responsibilities include research, website maintenance, blogging, community outreach, publicity, event planning, and administrative tasks as needed. More responsibility will be awarded to the right candidate.

The internship typically runs five months (negotiable), 10-20 hours/week (also negotiable), for school credit if desired.
