Policies

 

I. Payment

A. Standard (These policies are always in effect and non-negotiable.)

1. Workshop registration fee must be received prior to the first meeting. Any participant who has not pre-paid is asked to pay upon arrival at Workshop #1 or forfeit seat.
2. The full balance for the entire eight-week session is due at the time of payment (promotional exceptions may apply).
3. Acceptable methods of registration include online, by mail or in person at an information seminar or special event.
4. We accept credit cards online, cash, or check made payable to WriteByNight.

B. Promotional (Promotional offers are temporary. Guidelines and eligibility are at the discretion of WriteByNight.)

1. Current Promotion: buy the first two workshops for a discounted rate of $50. Stay on for the full workshop session or withdraw with no further obligation.
2. Participants registered under the current promotion pay $50 prior to or at Workshop #1. Inform workshop leader of your intent to either continue or withdraw prior to Workshop #3. Balance in full for the remaining workshops ($180, cash or check only) must be received prior to or at Workshop #3.




II. Etiquette

A. Fair Exchange Clause: Workshop participants agree to provide thoughtful written and verbal feedback to all submitted work with the understanding that their fellow workshop participants will do the same for them.

B. Constructive Criticism: Workshop participants must treat fellow members with respect at all times. Honesty is valued here, as is sensitivity. Victimization and/or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

C. Plagiarism/Intellectual Property

1. The writing submitted to the group must be 100% your creation.
2. The work submitted by workshop participants is the sole property of the submitter. No work, under any circumstance, may be borrowed, copied, or reproduced.

D. Venue: The Arts Council and Cultural Council have generously provided us with spaces in which to conduct our workshops. All participants are expected to treat these venues with the utmost care. The party responsible for damage done to private property will carry the financial burden. WriteByNight will not be held responsible for personal injury incurred on either of these venues’ premises.




III. Other

A. Attendance: Missed workshop meetings are the responsibility of the workshop participant. Monetary compensation will not be provided.

B. Refunds: Refunds are determined on a case-by-case basis and are at the discretion of WriteByNight.

C. The workshop structure is subject to change at any time over the course of the program.

D. Due to insurance restrictions, members must be at least 18 years of age.
